What you get on day one

Pick Qatar when you create the business. Everything below is seeded for you and editable in Settings.

  • No tax on invoices. Qatar has no VAT, so invoices carry no tax lines. Add a rate in Settings if that changes.
  • QAR amounts, DD/MM/YYYY dates. A total prints as QAR 1,250,000.00, in words as riyals and dirhams.
  • A January to December financial year. Numbering runs per year: the first invoice is INV-2026-0001.
  • Payroll components ready. Basic salary, Housing allowance, Transport allowance, Other allowance, Social insurance (employee, Qatari staff), Deductions, Social insurance (employer, Qatari staff) and End-of-service accrual.
  • Phones with +974. Customer, supplier and employee numbers take the +974 format; you and your team sign in with your email.

Tax in Qatar

Tax in Qatar: what you need to know

The rules the product is set up around, in plain words. Your accountant confirms what applies to you. Sources: General Tax Authority, GRSIA.

  • No VAT. Qatar signed the GCC VAT framework but has not introduced VAT, and no start date has been set. SimpleERP sets up a Qatari business with no tax on invoices; if VAT arrives, you add the rate in Settings.
  • Plain invoices. With no VAT there is no tax invoice and no tax registration number to print. Your invoices show your business, the customer, the items and the total in QAR.
  • Corporate income tax. Profits attributable to foreign owners are taxed at 10%; returns are filed with the General Tax Authority through its Dhareeba portal.
  • Excise tax. Excise applies to selected goods such as tobacco and energy drinks, charged when they are imported or produced, not on ordinary invoices.
