Multi-branch business
More branches, still one set of books
Give each branch its own address, GSTIN and warehouse, move stock between them, and keep every branch on one ledger, so the whole business adds up without consolidation work.
In short
SimpleERP is multi-branch ERP software for Indian small businesses. Each branch has its own address, GSTIN and warehouses, documents carry their branch, stock moves by transfer at cost, and all branches post to one ledger, so the books cover the whole business.

Hidden until you need it
A one-location business never sees branches or warehouses. The day you open a second location, you add a branch and the rest follows, without moving to a bigger product or re-entering anything.
- Every business starts with a head office branch and a default warehouse, created at sign-up.
- Add a branch with its address, state and GSTIN, and a warehouse is offered for it.
- Your business profile fills the head office address and GSTIN, so there is nothing to retype.
Branches
Each branch bills under its own GSTIN
Invoices raised under a branch print that branch's name, address and GSTIN, and GST is decided by comparing the customer's state with the branch's state.
- GSTIN validated and the state taken from it.
- Document editors default to the branch's own warehouse.
- Employees and holidays can belong to a branch, so a local festival is a holiday only where it applies.
- Archiving a branch is blocked while it still has open documents or active employees.

Warehouses
Stock in every location, valued the same way
Stock on hand is kept per product and warehouse, valued at one weighted average cost per product across the business, so moving stock between branches never changes its value. The stock screen can group by product, to see the business total, or by warehouse, to see one location.
- Transfers move stock from one warehouse to another with a document for each move.
- Low stock can be read per warehouse or for the business.
- Stock value on the stock screen reconciles to the inventory account, and shows the difference if it ever does not.
Books
One ledger, read by branch or as a whole
All branches post to one ledger, so the profit and loss and balance sheet cover the whole business, while sales, purchase, GST and ledger reports can be filtered by branch.
| Report | By branch | Whole business |
|---|---|---|
| Sales by customer, product or month | Yes | Yes |
| Sales and purchase registers (GST) | Yes | Yes |
| HSN summary | Yes | Yes |
| General ledger | Yes | Yes |
| Profit and loss, balance sheet | No | Yes |
Numbering
One numbering series, with the branch on every document
Document numbers run in one series per document type across the business, such as INV-2026-27-0213, and each document records the branch it belongs to.
- Prefix, padding and yearly reset are yours to set, with a live preview.
- Filter any document list by branch to find one location's invoices or bills.
- Numbers are assigned at save and never reused.
Honest limits
What multi-branch does not cover yet
Know these before you set up a second branch.
- Separate invoice numbering per branch. Every branch shares one series per document type.
- Profit and loss or balance sheet by branch. Both cover the whole business.
- Restricting a member to one branch. Roles decide what a person can do, not which branch they see.
- Branch transfers as tax invoices or delivery challans. A transfer is a stock document; ask your CA how to treat moves between two GSTINs.
- Consolidation across separate companies. Each company is its own business in SimpleERP.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Can each branch have a different GSTIN?
Yes. Each branch has its own GSTIN, validated when you enter it, and invoices under that branch print it. GST type is worked out from the branch's state and the customer's state.
Do I pay more for each branch?
No. SimpleERP does not charge per branch, per warehouse or per team member. Custom pricing for larger businesses is on the pricing page.
Can a store manager only see their own store?
Not yet. Roles control which modules and actions a person can use, not which branch. If you need branch-only access, tell us.
How do I see one branch's sales?
Open any sales report or the GST sales register and filter by branch. The dashboard and the profit and loss cover the whole business.
Can I move stock from one branch to another?
Yes. A stock transfer moves goods from one warehouse to another at weighted average cost, so the business's stock value does not change. A transfer is not a tax invoice, so check with your CA how moves between two GSTINs should be documented.
