Tools
Free calculators for GST, payroll and stock
Seven small tools for the sums an Indian business does every week, each with the formula and a worked example on the page.
In short
SimpleERP offers seven free tools for Indian businesses: GST and reverse GST, GSTIN validator, amount in words, depreciation, salary breakup and weighted average cost. The GST, words, GSTIN and stock tools run the product's own functions; depreciation and salary are estimates.

How to choose
Built on the product's own code where it can be
The GST split, amount in words, GSTIN check and weighted average cost run the same functions SimpleERP uses on real invoices and stock, so the answer here matches the product. The depreciation and salary tools are planning estimates, and each page says how the product differs.
- GST split by place of supply. The calculator picks CGST and SGST or IGST from the seller's and buyer's states, as a SimpleERP invoice does.
- Rupees, not floating point. Amounts are worked in exact decimals and rounded to the paisa, so ₹10,000 at 18% is ₹1,800.00, never ₹1,799.99.
- The formula is on every page. Each tool writes its maths out with a worked example for Lakshmi Steel Furnitures, so you can check it by hand.
- Estimates labelled as estimates. Depreciation shows yearly figures where the product posts monthly, pro-rated schedules; the salary breakup uses common conventions where the product pays the components you set.
- Honest limits. Each page says what the tool does not do, such as cess, TDS or the professional tax amount.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Are these tools free?
Yes. Every tool on this page is free to use with no sign-up. The tools run in your browser and do not save what you type.
How accurate is the GST calculator?
The arithmetic is exact to the paisa and matches a SimpleERP invoice. The answer is only as right as the rate you pick, so confirm the rate for your goods with your CA or the GST portal before you rely on it.
Can the GSTIN validator tell me if a GSTIN is active?
No. It checks the format and the check character and reads the state and PAN, which catches most typos. Whether a GSTIN is active is only on the GST portal.
Does the salary calculator work out income tax?
No. It splits CTC into basic, HRA, PF and special allowance and estimates in-hand pay before tax. It says whether professional tax applies in the state but does not compute TDS or the PT amount.
Stop doing the maths by hand
