What you get on day one

Pick Indonesia when you create the business. Everything below is seeded for you and editable in Settings.

  • VAT (PPN) rates seeded. PPN 11% (12% × DPP 11/12), PPN 12% (luxury goods), PPN 0% (export) and PPN exempt, with PPN 11% (12% × DPP 11/12) as the default.
  • Invoice with your NPWP. The NPWP is checked for format when you enter it and printed on every invoice.
  • IDR amounts, DD/MM/YYYY dates. A total prints as Rp 1,250,000, in words as rupiah and sen.
  • A January to December financial year. Numbering runs per year: the first invoice is INV-2026-0001.
  • Payroll components ready. Basic salary, Fixed allowances, THR (religious holiday allowance), PPh 21, BPJS Kesehatan (employee), BPJS JHT (employee), BPJS JP (employee), BPJS Kesehatan (employer), BPJS JHT (employer), BPJS JP (employer) and BPJS JKK + JKM (employer).
  • Phones with +62. Customer, supplier and employee numbers take the +62 format; you and your team sign in with your email.

VAT (PPN) in Indonesia

VAT (PPN) in Indonesia: what you need to know

The rules the product is set up around, in plain words. Your accountant confirms what applies to you. Sources: DJP: PMK 131/2024, DJP regional office: the PKP threshold, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, BPJS Kesehatan.

  • Rate. PPN is 12% since 1 January 2025 (PMK 131/2024). For everything except luxury goods it is charged on a tax base (DPP) of 11/12 of the price, so the tax is 11% of the price; luxury goods pay the full 12%.
  • Registration. You must register as a PKP (Pengusaha Kena Pajak) once turnover passes Rp4.8 billion in a year. Smaller businesses may register voluntarily.
  • Faktur Pajak. A PKP issues an electronic tax invoice (e-Faktur) for each taxable sale in DJP's Coretax system, live since January 2025. Invoices on the 11/12 base use code 04.
  • Returns. PPN is reported every month on the periodic VAT return (SPT Masa PPN).

FAQ

Questions, answered

Do I need to be registered for VAT (PPN) to use SimpleERP?

No. Setup asks whether you are registered. You must register as a PKP (VAT-registered business) once turnover passes Rp4.8 billion in a year. Smaller businesses may register voluntarily. If that changes, switch it in Settings; your NPWP prints on every invoice once you add it.

What does a SimpleERP invoice show?

Your business name and address, your NPWP, the customer, a number from a sequence that never repeats, the date, each line with its VAT (PPN) rate, the tax by rate and the amount in words. Your accountant can confirm what your business must show.

How much does SimpleERP cost in Indonesia?

Every module is free for 7 days with no card. After that Premium is Rp 825,000 per user per month (Rp 9,900,000 per user per year), the fixed equivalent of USD 50, counted on the people who sign in. See pricing.

Does SimpleERP file my VAT (PPN) returns?

No. It keeps the records and gives you a tax summary by rate and the sales and purchase registers, all exportable to CSV, for whoever files your returns.

Does SimpleERP create my Faktur Pajak?

No. SimpleERP prints a commercial invoice with PPN worked out at 11% or 12%; the Faktur Pajak itself is issued in Coretax. Add the Faktur Pajak number to the invoice notes.

Can I keep the 11% effective rate as my default?

Yes. SimpleERP seeds "PPN 11% (12% × DPP 11/12)" as the default and "PPN 12%" for luxury goods, so the tax on each line matches what Coretax computes.

Where is my data stored?

In a PostgreSQL database on the hosted service, where row-level security keeps each business to its own rows. Ask us where the service is hosted and how it is backed up, and export your reports to CSV whenever you like.
