Inventory software for clothing stores and garment shops
Know how many medium chikan kurtis are on the Hazratganj shelf, what the winter lot from Ludhiana is worth, and which sizes to reorder before the season peaks.
In short
SimpleERP is inventory software for clothing stores in India. Each size is its own product with its own SKU, stock is counted per shop, every season lot is valued at weighted average cost, and transfers move pieces between branches.

An inventory day at Awadh Dress House
Awadh Dress House keeps about 2,400 SKUs across its two shops and a small godown above the Aminabad branch. Sarees are counted by the piece, kurtis and readymade shirts by the piece in each size, and school uniform fabric by the metre for the tailor who stitches bulk orders.
In August the cartons start arriving: knitted kids wear from Tiruppur, georgette sarees from Surat, sweaters and thermals from Ludhiana. By October the owner wants to know which sizes are running out at Hazratganj while the godown still has twenty of them.
How do I keep stock by size without variants?
Make one product per size. SimpleERP has no size or colour matrix, so a printed kurti in S, M, L and XL is four products, each with its own SKU, stock and reorder level. The CSV import makes this a spreadsheet job rather than four hundred screens.
- SKU pattern such as KRT-PRN-BLU-L keeps the design, colour and size readable.
- Categories for Sarees, Kurtis, Readymade men, Kids wear and Uniforms filter the stock list.
- Search by name or SKU on the bill and the stock screen: typing BLU-L finds every blue piece in L, because the text is matched as typed.
| Product family | Unit | Kept in | Reorder pattern |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chikan kurtis, one product per size | Pcs | Both shops and the godown | Level 6 per size per shop; M and L set higher |
| Sarees, silk and synthetic | Pcs | Aminabad shop | Bought per season; no level on wedding pieces |
| Kids wear sets from Tiruppur | Pcs | Godown, then both shops | Level 10 per size before the school reopening |
| Sweaters and thermals from Ludhiana | Pcs | Godown | One lot in September, top-up in December |
| Uniform fabric for stitched orders | Metres | Godown | Bought against each school order |
What is a season lot worth after the second order costs more?
Each supplier bill brings pieces in at its own rate, and SimpleERP blends them. If Hazratganj held 60 printed kurtis at ₹420 and a Surat lot of 40 arrives at ₹470, the average becomes ₹440 a piece and the stock is worth ₹44,000.
- Value per shop as of today, so the godown and each counter are seen apart.
- Pieces leave at average cost when billed, so the margin on each bill is real.
- Count differences post to the books with a reason, such as missing after the Diwali rush.

How do pieces move between the godown and the two shops?
A transfer picks the product, the source and the destination. It shows what is available at the source as you type, prints a transfer note for the boy who carries the carton, and moves the pieces at the same average cost, so the books do not change.
- Godown to shop each morning for what sold out the day before.
- Shop to shop when a customer at Hazratganj wants a size only Aminabad has.
- The movement ledger shows every bill, return and transfer behind a figure.
Which sizes do I reorder before the festival season?
Set a reorder level per size. The low-stock list shows each one at or below its level with the supplier you last bought from, and you tick the rows to draft purchase orders, one per supplier, to send to Tiruppur or Surat.
- Order quantity starts from the level and what is on hand, and stays editable.
- Slow sizes such as XXL can carry no level at all and stay off the list.

Honest limits
What SimpleERP does not do yet
- No batch, lot, serial or expiry tracking, and no barcode scanning
- Weighted average cost only; there is no FIFO
- No automatic reorder suggestions: the reorder level shows what is low, you decide what to buy
- No size or colour variants: each size is a separate product, set up one row per size in the CSV import
- No price tags or barcode labels printed from the product list

FAQ
Questions, answered
I have 300 kurti designs in five sizes. Is that 1,500 products?
Yes, if you want stock counted by size. Most shops set them up in a spreadsheet with one row per size and import it once. For designs you sell in small numbers, one product for all sizes is simpler, and the size goes in the line description.
Can I see the total of a design across all its sizes?
Filter the stock list by the design name, such as printed kurti blue, and every size shows with its quantity and value per shop. There is no single parent row that adds the sizes up for you.
How do I record a damaged saree that cannot be sold?
Post a stock adjustment in the shop where it is, with the reason damaged. The saree leaves stock at its average cost and the loss posts to the books. If it sells later at a markdown, keep it in stock and give a line discount instead.
A Tiruppur lot arrived with ten pieces in the wrong size. What do I do?
Raise a debit note against the supplier's bill for those pieces. They leave stock and the amount you owe the supplier drops. When the right sizes arrive, they come in on a new bill.
