Agri inputs and farm supplies
GST billing software for fertiliser, seeds and pesticide shops
Bill a farmer's seed packets, fertiliser bags and pesticide bottles on one invoice, with the rate taken from each product, and leave the balance on his account until the crop is sold.
In short
SimpleERP is GST billing software for fertiliser, seeds and pesticide shops in India. Each product carries its HSN code, unit and GST rate, so one invoice mixes nil-rated seeds with taxed inputs and credit sales stay on the farmer's account.

A GST billing day at Bhoomi Agro Kendra
Bhoomi Agro Kendra stands near the Guntur mirchi yard, and in the last week of June its counter does more invoices before noon than in all of April. Chilli growers from Prathipadu and Pedakakani come in for hybrid chilli seed packets, bags of DAP and complex fertiliser, and a bottle or two of insecticide for the nursery.
One grower's bill on 24 June came to ₹14,860 across six lines: two packets of chilli seed, four bags of DAP, three bags of 20-20-0-13, a litre of insecticide and a knapsack sprayer. The seed is nil-rated and the rest is taxed at different rates, which used to mean a pocket calculator and a carbon-copy bill book.
Now the counter picks the farmer, types the first letters of each product, and SimpleERP fills the HSN code, unit and rate per line. The farmer pays ₹5,000 by UPI from the QR on the print, and the rest stays on his account.
Which HSN codes and GST rates go on a fertiliser shop's invoice?
Every product carries its own code and rate, so the invoice never needs one rate for the whole bill. Fertiliser and pesticide rates were revised in September 2025, so set them from the current notification rather than an old bill book.
- Nil-rated lines sit beside taxed lines, and the HSN summary lists each code with its tax.
- CGST and SGST inside Andhra Pradesh, IGST for a buyer whose GSTIN is from Telangana or Karnataka.
| Product | HSN | Unit | Usual GST |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chilli and vegetable seed for sowing | 1209 | packets | Nil |
| Cotton seed for sowing | 1207 | packets | Nil |
| Paddy seed for sowing | 1006 | bags | Nil |
| Urea | 3102 | 45 kg bags | Confirm the current rate (revised September 2025) |
| DAP and complex fertilisers | 3105 | 50 kg bags | Confirm the current rate (revised September 2025) |
| Insecticides, fungicides, weedicides | 3808 | litres, ml bottles, kg packs | Confirm the current rate (revised September 2025) |

How fast can the counter bill in the sowing rush?
The line editor is built for the keyboard, with Enter and Tab moving through the lines, and the product picker finds Imidacloprid from three letters. Walk-in farmers can share one customer named Counter sale, while regular growers keep their own account.
- Units per product: bags, kg, litres, packets or pieces as you sold them.
- Line discount in rupees for the grower who buys forty bags.
- UPI QR printed on the A4 invoice for part payment at the counter.
- Credit note for an unopened bag returned after the rain fails.

Can a farmer pay after harvest?
Yes. Set a payment term of, say, 180 days on the grower's account and every credit invoice stays open until a receipt is allocated to it. When he brings ₹40,000 after selling his chillies at the yard in February, the receipt settles the oldest bills first.
- Credit limit per farmer, with a warning before a new bill crosses it.
- Customer statement with every bill, every payment and the balance, printed for the farmer.

Honest limits
What SimpleERP does not do yet
- E-invoice IRN and QR code, and e-way bills, are not generated through the government APIs
- Cess is not calculated; GST return filing stays with you or your accountant
- No price lists: every line is priced as you bill it
- No link to the government fertiliser PoS device; subsidised fertiliser sales must still be recorded on that device
- No dealer licence numbers, batch numbers or expiry dates on pesticide and seed lines

FAQ
Questions, answered
Can I sell nil-rated seed and taxed fertiliser on the same bill?
Yes. The rate sits on each product, not on the invoice. Seed for sowing can carry nil while fertiliser and pesticide carry their own rates, and the printed HSN summary shows the taxable value and tax for each code separately.
The fertiliser rate changed in September 2025. How do I update it?
Change the GST rate on each affected product, or re-import the product file with the new rate; a re-import never touches stock. Invoices posted earlier keep the rate they were billed at. Rates change, so confirm the rate for your goods with your CA or the GST portal before you rely on it.
Most of my farmers have no GSTIN. Is that a problem?
No. A farmer is added with a name and address, and the invoice is a B2C bill taxed by the shop's own state. A trader or a farmer producer company with a GSTIN gets it checked on entry, and the place of supply follows it.
Can I bill urea by the bag and pesticide by the litre?
Yes. Each product has its own unit, so urea sells in bags, loose seed in kg and pesticide in litres or bottles. Add any unit that is missing, such as packet, once in settings and use it on every product that needs it.
