Payroll software for shoe and leather goods factories

Clickers, closers, lasters and finishers, each with a different structure. Mark the floor daily and the monthly run does the rest, advances included.

In short

SimpleERP is payroll software for shoe and leather goods factories in India. Clickers, closers, lasters and finishers get salary structures once, attendance and leave feed the monthly run, and PF, PT and advance recovery appear on every payslip.

A payroll day at Yamuna Footcraft

Yamuna Footcraft employs 42 people: clickers who cut the upper leather, closers who stitch it, lasters who pull it over the lasts, sole fixers, finishers and packers, plus a designer and two in the office. Most of Agra's karigars are used to being paid by the pairs they finish in a lot, and a few still are.

Before Diwali and Eid the advances pile up, and every month someone has to work out how much to recover from whom. Attendance lives in the supervisor's diary, which he takes home.

SimpleERP gives each worker a monthly structure, marks the whole floor from one sheet, and recovers each advance through the payslip until it is cleared. Approving the run posts wages and PF to the books.

How are clickers, closers and lasters paid?

Each role gets a monthly salary structure built from components, with skill allowances where the work needs them. The run reads paid days from attendance and applies the deductions for each person.

  • A skill allowance for clickers who cut the costly upper leather for each article.
  • ESI is not preset; give it its own component for closers and finishers who are covered.
  • TDS is a figure you set for the designer or office staff who need it.

Can the supervisor stop keeping a diary?

The daily sheet lists every worker with present, absent, half day and leave. One tap marks all present, and the supervisor changes only those who are out. Holidays and weekly offs are already on the sheet and cannot be overwritten.

  • Phone check-in for workers on self-service, with a late flag after the grace period.
  • Leave applied on a phone shows the balance before it is approved.
  • Loss of pay comes straight from absences and unpaid leave.

How do Diwali advances come back without a diary?

Record each advance with a monthly recovery amount. Every run deducts it until the balance is nil, and the payslip shows what is left, so a karigar who leaves after the season has a clear figure to settle.

  • Bonus is added in the review step for the month it is paid.
  • Approve and pay posts wages, PF and ESI payable and the bank payment together.
  • Payslips reach workers on their phones through employee self-service.

Honest limits

What SimpleERP does not do yet

  • Income tax (TDS) is not computed; you set the deduction per employee
  • No preset ESI or gratuity; add them as components where they apply
  • No biometric device integration: attendance is marked on the phone or entered by HR
  • No per-pair piece rates: karigars paid by the pair need a monthly salary, with any output incentive typed in at review.
  • No weekly wage runs: payroll is monthly.

Getting started

Start with payroll

  1. Sign up with your phone

Name, phone number and a password. No card for the seven-day trial, and email is optional.

  2. Tell us about the business

Type your GSTIN and the state fills itself. Accounts, GST rates, units, roles and numbering are seeded for you.

  3. Add your people

Add clickers, closers, lasters and finishers with their shift, salary structure, ESI component where it applies and any advance outstanding.

  4. Run the first payroll

Attendance and leave feed the run; payslips post to the books and staff see them on their phones.

FAQ

Questions, answered

My closers are paid per pair. Can SimpleERP do that?

No. There is no piece-rate or per-pair pay, so the pairs a closer stitches are not counted into his wages. Units that move from per-pair pay usually set a fixed salary and add an output incentive as an amount in the review step, which is typed, not counted.

Can I pay a karigar weekly?

No. The payroll run is monthly. Weekly cash can be recorded as an advance and recovered from the monthly payslip, which keeps the karigar's balance clear and the books right.

Are PF and PT deducted for the karigars?

PF and PT are seeded salary components and appear on every payslip from the structure. ESI is not preset, so add it as a component where it applies. Income tax is not computed; set any TDS amount per employee yourself.

Can workers see their own attendance and payslips?

Yes. Each worker signs in with a phone number to employee self-service, where they see payslips, leave balances and attendance, check in, and apply for leave that the supervisor approves.
